As a child, you have all the privileges of God’s promises. Paul says that every spiritual blessing is found in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3) The Father blesses His children by rewarding them for their faithfulness. Jesus said to the faithful servant “Well done”. He then told him to enter into the joy of the Lord. Only the faithful Christian will hear such wonderful words!
On one occasion, Paul used the word “Abba” before the word “Father”. It is a term of endearment. As His children, we too can address the Father as “Abba”.
Of course, children in the house of God also have responsibilities. We are called on to glorify the Father in ALL we say and do. I Corinthians 10:31 “Therefore, whether in eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
We are also commissioned to preach the Gospel, that is, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for the sins of the world. Mark 16:15, 16 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he who does not believe shall be condemned.”
It is truly a great honor to serve God as a child in His family, the church. Have “YOU” made such a commitment?
