I have spent a reasonable amount of time with Ted and I tell people “our preacher doesn’t have a mean bone in his body”. He is always kind and compassionate. I pray for the Spencer’s and hope they will stay with us for many more years.
Ted’s sermons are always so well prepared and delivered with love. I can’t bear the thought of having to look for another minister and his wife. Having been in the ministry myself, Shirley and I know of the struggles it brings. It takes “special” people to serve a congregation as long as the Spencer’s have.
I thank God that He has seen fit to allow these two to keep working at Sparta. The church here is making strides and I am encouraged, along with others. Our attendance and weekly contribution have gone up with other faithful Christians choosing to worship with us and making Sparta their church family.
I enjoy coming into our building and seeing our minister and his wife so well dressed and always smiling. Trust me, not every congregation can “brag” on their preacher and his wife! This was on my heart today and just wanted to put it into words.
